time for the mets to go forward Now that the Mets have made what they feel are needed coaching changes, it is time now for general manager Omar Minaya, to make some needed changes on the roster. In yesterdays 6-1 loss to the Angels, we saw again how the "older" players, fall down. Delgado, again trying to make catches with one hand, makes an error in the first inning costs a run. Damian Easly forgets to cover second base on a pick-off attemt and of course castillo hitting his usual soft ground balls.
I know Metsfans have been seeing this since the season began and all you hear is that ---getting rid of certain players will cause the team to eat contract money, and that there is really nothing in the minors to make a difference. Well if you follow the Mets closely enough you will see that there is some help in the minors, outfielders, Val Pasccucci, Nick Evans, and when he comes back from the DL,Fernando Martinez. In the infield there is Argenis Reyes, Mike Carp, and Dan Murphy, and there is even pitchers such as Johnathan Neise, and Robert Parnell.
Of course a lot of people will argue that you cant bring them all up at once, and you cant expect them to perform as well up in the majors as well as they have been doing in the minors. This is all very true, but Im sure most fans would rather watch young players learning to become better in order to help the team win down the road, rather than watching much older players just playing to collect their big pay checks, while making the team look sloppy and slow.
I certainly hope Mr. Minaya, will try to do something to improve the roster in order to make the team a winning team again. If not, then it wont matter who is the manager, this team will not move forward.
