the Giants move on Well as any good Giants fan would know over the past few years there were three Giants player who sort of had a lot to say on the every day team antics. Mike Strahan, Tiki Barber, and Jeromey Shockey. Now they are all gone from the team. Barber retired after the 2006 season and even though he constantly says otherwise, Im sure hes sorry he missed the Super Bowl year, because he really did deserve to be there. Strahan was there got his ring and now he retired a winner. But Shockey, he is a whole other story. He could never be satisfied with his role on the team, always felt he knew more than the quarterback and even the coaches, and told them so. During the the Giants fourteenth game of the seasom Shockey injured his leg to the point that he would miss the remainder of the season and the playoffs. That burnt him to no end and to make matters worse during the Super Bowl, he was not allowed to stay on the sidelines with the team. Kevin boss, a rookie who took his place at tightend, played very well throughout the playoffs and the Super Bowl, that Shockey and the rest of the giants organization saw that they could win without him. Shockey bitched and moaned all during the off season right up to the draft, and claimed he wanted more playing time or he wanted to be traded. He even had a loud argument with GM Jerry Reese. Well today ------07/21/2008, Jeromey Shockey was traded to the New Orleans Saints for second and fifth round picks in the 2009 draft. So now the "big three" are gone and the Giants can function as a solid team with everyone playing to win. If one has to ask is it somebodies team, you can probably say its ELIS team. Its very hard for a team in the NFL to repeat these days, but I feel the Giants have as good as shot as anyone.
