where has doo-wop music gone Im sure not many people today really wonder what has happend to the "Doo-Wop" music of the fifties and sixties. Unless you are a real fan of that type of music along with "rock&roll", you probably have an old record collection somewhere in your attic or basement and you dont even know what songs you still have. There is only one radio station that still plays this great sound and they were were off the air for a while but by popular demand CBS-FM put its "oldies" shows back on. There have been many different types of music that the teenagers and so on listen to in the last fifty years. But you can bet your bottem dollar that what style it is it got its roots from Rock &Roll and Doo-Wop songs and singers. As some of you have probably watched for the past 5-8years PBS--channel 13, have been putting on "oldie" shows by actually bringing back as many of the original performers as they can find. If you also notice, whereever these shows are being held, whether its in New York, Phila, Pittsburg, Jersey, or Florida, there is always a pacted house. In thes pacted houses are not just people who were teenagers in the fifities and sixties, but people who are much younger who actually like Doo-Wop and Rock& Roll. Lately these shows, by request have expanded to include Rythym & Blues and the Mowtown Sound.
What Im trying to get across, is that there should be a few more radio stations and more TV stations spending a little more time bringing back these sounds. Im sure they would have little trouble finding people who cant wait to listen and watch.
