The Fun House was a club in New York City during the years of 79-85, What happened? It did phenomenally. The club became not just a place, but almost a lifestyle for some. It originally opened in 1978 as a gay club, but when it didnt go over as well as hoped it was converted to a Disco.
The club featured DJs Jim Burgess with Bobby Guttadaro, Ted Currier, Jonathan Fearing, John "JellyBean" Benitez, Tony Smith, Randy "The Ghost Murray", and Scott "DJ Juice" .
For years the Fun House was regarded as one of the top night spots in NY along side Studio 54, Paradise Garage, The Loft, till the day they closed their doors. It had as we called it a sound system that you could feel. The Garage the only club with a comparable system had a system that people say you could see the sound.
However unlike any other club it create a following. So when anyone who knows, someone says Fun House, people who know will look up and say, huh? The Fun House. I used to go there all the time. I practically lived there.
Arthur Baker filmed his Confusion video there for New Order.
So after many years past, Scott "DJ Juice" decided that he wanted to organize and DJ another Fun House Reunion that would get everyone together again in March 2006 back around almost 3 YRs ago, as well as community website for all that had fond memories of club, www.funhousebuggas.com, Scott "DJ Juice" organized the first big reunion of all those who wished to attend, the Official Fun House 28 YR Reunion which took place on in June 22, 2007.
Over 400 people showed up. They came from across the states, California, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Florida, Connecticut, New Jersey, Queens, Long Island,, and Brooklyn just to name a few.
On October 26,2007, Scott "DJ Juice" hosted the Fun House Halloween Party.
The Official Fun House 29 YR Reunion was held on Friday June 20th , 2008 at the same venue as the Halloween Party.
On October 10th, 2008 the Fun House will officially come back to NYC. The party is at
