Kitchen Remedy To Condition Hair

Lustrous and silky hair requires a little bit of care and attention. Even if you’re unable to make it to the salon for a hair treatment or if you’re having a bad hair day, don’t worry! By using items you can easily find in the kitchen, you can give your hair a quick, easy and effective conditioning treatment.

Egg-cellent conditioning for all hair types

The best natural hair conditioner that helps deal with all hair problems from frizz to dullness is raw egg. Rich in fats and proteins, the yolk is naturally moisturizing, while the egg whites (which contain bacteria-eating enzymes) remove undesirable oils.

  • Normal conditioning: Beat one egg (yolk and whites) and massage it into your scalp and all throughout out length of hair, including the tips.
  • Oily Hair Treatment: Use half a cup of the whites of an egg and apply in same manner.
  • Dry Hair Treatment: Use half a cup of an egg’s yolk to moisturize dry, brittle hair.

For each conditioning treatment, leave the eggs in your hair for around 20 minutes (you can put on a showering cap during this time to manage your hair). In order to prevent the egg from “cooking”, rinse your hair with cold water and continue with your normal shampooing routine. Adding tablespoon of avocado oil or olive oil will also help you get that dazzling shine. These kitchen remedies should not be applied more frequently than once a month. Be prepared to enjoy a parlor treatment at home!
