Iron deficiency causes the disturbance in the formation of hemoglobin and defective maturation of the red blood cells, also referred to as anemia. This problem is mainly prevalent in young children, pregnant mothers and women.

Although iron supplements may help prevent iron deficiency in our body it can cause your stool to darken, constipation and heart burn. So, it is better to consume iron through available foods.

But the simplest way to ensure that iron is prevalent in your body by eating a healthy balanced diet. You should be consuming sufficient protein rich foods, fruits, green vegetables and carbohydrates to ensure a balance of iron in your diet.
