How were you inspired to begin your channel? Where did you start?
I was inspired to begin my channel by other Youtubers! I was (and still am) an avid watcher for maybe two or three years before I finally decided to start my channel. I never considered myself to be a creative person, but now that I think about it, I relied on a lot of creative outlets to get my mind flowing. At the time of my start, I was already running a fashion blog, and although I loved photography, I also wanted to expand towards videography and editing. Long story short, I then started my channel!
What inspires you and keeps you moving forward? Why are you passionate about it?
Inspiration strikes me anytime and anywhere. However, this question actually hits me pretty hard because I recently took an unexpected (and unannounced) break from my youtube and blog. I was getting discouraged with the feedback and wanted to take some time alone to contemplate whether or not youtube and blogging was something that I was actually passionate about and wanted to continue pursuing. It wasn’t so hard at first, especially since school was taking up so much of my time. But once the two month mark hit, I began to feel an itch to create every single day. I saw possible video ideas when walking around campus and possible photo locations when driving through the city. I felt constricted, tired, and sad because I had so many creative ideas that weren’t being pursued. Finally, after midterms I was able to go to a park that I had spotted on a drive, and I spent two hours there just taking pictures and filming. I was the happiest that I had ever been in those two months. It was really then that I realized how much I loved this creative outlet and how much I relied on and needed it. It also allowed me to see just how much I was sucked into the Youtube bubble and mindset. The only thing that I cared about was the amount of views and subscribers I was getting. Taking time away from it allowed me to realize that what made me happy was the process of creating, rather than the numbers.
What’s your favorite aspect of the beauty & cosmetics industry?
I love that trends resurface every couple of years! It’s a really interesting aspect of the fashion industry, and I find it intriguing when I tell my mom that (i.e.) mules are back in style, and she’ll sigh loudly and say that she owned however many pairs, however long ago, but threw them away because who knew they’d come back in style? Also, how cool and fascinating is it that literally anything can be a new trendy item? Take for example, a piece of ribbon equals cool new choker.

What makes your brand unique from other beauty channels?
I always do my best to convey a sense of genuineness in my videos. Whether it be through my style, like only wearing outfits that I would actually wear, or my personality, I always want to keep it real with my audience.
How do you organize/plan out your content?
I swear and live by my planner.
What is your goal for your channel? Dreams?
To keep growing (both channel/blog and myself) and to inspire people to get out there and DO WHAT THEY LOVE.
Do you have any tips for others trying to break into the beauty industry?
Just start. Also- everyone’s style is different, so if you think you have nothing to bring to the table, trust me- you do.
What’s your personal style?
Comfort is #1, but otherwise I’d say it’s mostly a juxtaposition of feminine and masculine pieces, though I normally lean towards the more feminine side of it. Also it’s quite minimalistic though with a hint of bohemian. At least that’s what I aim for!
What are your go-to outfit combinations?
A t-shirt dress, my bomber jacket, and my trusty converses!

How does your personal style influence your branding?
In the grand scheme of things, I think my personal style is visible through small things like my banner, my thumbnails, and my style of editing. My personal style also affects the brands that I decide to partner with. If a company doesn’t portray a message that I believe in, or if I don’t think that they will appeal to my audience, I won’t collaborate with them.
What’s your favorite brand and why?
I love Zara, Forever 21, Asos, and Free People (if I could afford it). I feel like I can never go wrong with Asos and Zara, Forever 21 is great for trendy items that you aren’t sure will stay in trend, and Free People is wonderful for the cute bohemian pieces.
