How were you inspired to begin your channel? Where did you start?
I was inspired to go natural after finding out that I had natural hair, I never knew there was anything outside relaxing my hair ever couple of months, I was raised relaxing my hair, It was just second nature of a Black/African woman to me. After realizing I could stand up as a black woman upholding her roots, There was no going back. I started vlogging my natural hair because I am a fan of natural beauty and standing out. Returning back to my natural roots gave me both opportunity to stand out and stand up for natural beauty. Vlogging my journey came natural as I’m a vlogger at heart.
“My passion comes from my desire to make people feel special, desired, and beautiful.”
What inspires you and keeps you moving forward? Why are you passionate about it?
I am inspired by the comments I read, by the thank you messages and the encouragement from my viewers. Knowing I’m making some kind of difference encourages me. My passion comes from my desire to make people feel special, desired, and beautiful.
What’s your favorite aspect of the beauty & cosmetics industry?
Any that has to do with enhancement, hair or makeup. I’m all about natural beauty but I love making what’s natural appear it’s best.
What makes your brand unique from other beauty channels?
I don’t want to be another “black” beauty channel, I want to be a beauty channel (Melanin on Point!) 😉 for those who can relate. But of course I will attract those who look like or can relate to me.
How do you organize/plan out your content?
It’s a lot more work than it looks, some videos can take weeks to film, edit and produce. I start by writing my ideas down, ideas can come from my experience, what’s trending and of course what my viewers comment they want to see. After that I plan the videos and schedule them accordingly, film, and produce!
What is your goal for your channel? Dreams?
My goal for my channel is that my channel would be a place where ladies can come to and feel welcomed, relate to my content and even been encouraged in their own health and beauty journey. My dream would be the same as my goal and my followers are awesome. They are just amazing!!! I love them, that’s all I can say.
Do you have any tips for others trying to break into the beauty industry?
I’d say first find your definition of beauty. It’d be what works for you, what make you believe in the beauty industry in the first place and then use that to definition to inspire your content, be encouraged, Rome wasn’t built in a day or something like that.
What are your favorite beauty products or your go-to skincare regimen?
Anything that exfoliates and cleans out my poses, I love! I believe health equals beauty.
“I’m all about natural beauty but I love making what’s natural appear its best.”
What products are you currently using on a daily basis?
Leave in conditioners, gel/edge control every now and then. Pressed powder for my face, something not to heavy that won’t clog my pores and my favorite concealers 😉
What’s your personal style?
Natural, I always shoot for something natural but natural in it’s best way/look possible.
How does your personal style influence your branding?
My hair, my make up routine, how, and why I make videos and goes back to my believe in Natural beauty.
What’s your favorite brand and why?
Cantu and Shea moisture are my typical go to for my hair, Revlon and Lo’real for my face.
